Wondering how I’ll really and truly keep track. So far so good.

Being someone who enjoys social media, it’s easy for me to want to share this with everyone. Even if I fail, and fail in a big way. At least I tried. There are so many people in this country who are not trying. They are sitting on their couch right now. We reported this week on a study that says millions more Americans will have diabetes in the next 40 years. Millions more.

So at least I’m giving this a shot.

No formal exercise today. But I’ve cleaned my house from top to bottom and climbed two sets of stairs several times. We’ve eaten pretty well today too.

Dad is still gone and the kids are driving me nuts. It will be interesting to see what I look like at the end of this two weeks. I’ll either be slimmer and happy or fatter and crazy. We’ll see. Last time he was gone for a long time I drank way too much.

This Friday, June 4th, all kids ride free at the City Park Rides in Pueblo. The rides include one of Colorado’s historical carousels, along with a mini roller coaster and a dozen other kid size rides.

The rides are open from 5 to 9 p.m. Normally the carousel rides cost just 50 cents, the other rides 25 cents, so this is a bargain all summer long.

Park hours are Tuesday-Thursday 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Friday-Sunday 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

This is a blast, my kids love to ride the mini train. Just be sure to bring a bit of cash for the cotton candy at the concession stand. This is not free, but worth it. Yum!

I told you last week that Sonic is doing a Buy One Get One Free promotion on their new shakes. They’re yummy–my family went yesterday.

However, I thought I would caution you these shakes are HUGE. We each got our own, but we could have split two shakes!

I have a nearly full small, a half empty small, and a half empty large in my freezer now. Although I am guessing these will be gone before I get home tonight with Daddy and the kids home.

Sonic is offering Buy One Get One Free on their shakes all the way through June 27th. You can either get the free one right then, or save your coupon for a return visit. Either way–Yum.

Here’s more information from News First 5′s David Ortiviz:

PCC says it’s not trying to make a profit, which is why they can offer the gourmet dinner for a bargain price.

The program is about giving culinary students an opportunity to get hands-on experience and earn college credit. “We have great food, cooked by awesome students and served by awesome students and it’s a great deal for the community to come in an get a great 5-course gourmet dinner for $10 a person,” Carey DeWitt, Dining Services Instructor at PCC.

PCC says the program has become so successful because of support from the public. “They’re helping the students learn and I really appreciate their support. By the same token I think for a very good price, they’re getting excellent food,” said Carol Himes, PCC Department Chair of Culinary Arts and Hospitality Studies.

The program has become so popular reservations are strongly encouraged. Dinner service starts between 6 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. every Wednesday. The dining room is located on the bottom level of the college center.

Students also cook lunches for the public. Lunch is served Tuesday through Friday, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Lunch items cost below $7.
