I’m very lucky, this year I get both Thanksgiving and Black Friday off! So, I’m posting all my Thrifty Thursday tips early!

I will certainly be taking advantage of this one in Old Colorado City. The merchants have gotten together to offer free pictures with Santa!

uglysanta_05

This is a holiday tradition in my family—and wow it can get pricey at the mall. I’ve spent $40 or $50 on this in years past. (No this is not my kid in this picture!!)

Old Saint Nick will be in “Santa’s Cabin” (at Bancroft Park on the corner of Colbrunn & W. Colorado Avenue) starting Friday, November 27th.

This is available for children 12 years old and younger. The website does not say what size the photo is, so I have emailed the PR firm for more information. UPDATE: Up to three kids can pose with Santa–and the photo is a 5×7 in a Keepsake Frame.

thrifty_thursdayIt’s time for Thrifty Thursday! In the mood for some ice cream? You can get a FREE 3oz serving of ice cream Thursday night at Cold Stone Creamery locations in Southern Colorado.

They’re just asking you to make a donation to the Make-A-Wish foundation. They call it the “World’s Largest Ice Cream Social.”

The ice cream flavor they’ll be scooping up was developed by a 5-year-old Tastemaster named Jack, so it’s called “Jack’s Creation.” He used sweet cream ice cream, brownies, sprinkles and caramel to come up with his favorite.
