The family classic, “E.T.: The Extraterrestrial,” will be shown free in Bear Creek Regional Park June 24. Film will roll at dusk, around 8:30 p.m.

Bring blankets or lawn chairs for preferred seating and take in a fun, summer evening of outdoor theater in the park.

If you’re like me, you’ve wanted to take the kids to Santa’s Workshop on Pikes Peak–but sticker shock has stopped you. $17.95 PER PERSON 2 and up. For small families–that’s doable. Larger families like mine–ouch.

You can expose your kids (or yourself) to art for free this coming Tuesday at the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center. You can wander around from 10 until 5 or get a guided tour with FAC Docents at 10, 11, 1, or 2pm.

If you’d like to purchase a family membership, they’re discounted from $60 to $50 on that day.

If you can’t make it this month–don’t worry–they do this free day on the third Tuesday of every month.

If you’d like to get the kids out in the Colorado sunshine this weekend, we’ve found an event that might fit the bill at the Fountain Creek Nature Center.

“Tracks, Scats, Dens & Nests ” is this Saturday, March 6, 10:00 – 11:30 a.m. During an indoor presentation you’ll learn about animal signs and how to read them. After that, there will be a hike to put what you’ve learned into practice.

The cost is $4 for members, $5 for non-members. You must make reservations by calling 520-6745.
