Mild Week Ahead…Stormy by Late Wednesday

leave a comment

Monday will bring sunny and mild weather to Acadiana with highs in the seasonably mild mid-60s.  Light south winds will likely set the stage for areas of dense fog to move in from the Gulf Monday night into Tuesday morning.  Tuesday will be mild with highs near 70 after a foggy start yielding to mostly cloudy skies.  A rather potent upper level system (from a series of disturbances that will plague the West Coast this week) will likely bring a good chance of thunderstorms to the area by late Wednesday, perhaps into Wednesday night.  A number of parameters will be coming together for the possibility of severe storms late Wednesday so we’ll be keeping on eye on this system.  The latter part of the week should be even milder with highs pushing into the low-mid 70s by Friday into the first part of the weekend.  Another potent disturbance will approach sometime next weekend ushering in another opportunity for hefty storms.  Timing of next weekend’s system is still up in the air with our best guess right now for sometime Saturday night.  More on the potency of Wednesday’s system and the timing of next weekend’s system forthcoming this week so stay tuned!
