Quick Changes This Weekend

A weak frontal boundary combined with an upper level disturbance will increase the clouds late tonight through tomorrow. A few isolated showers may be possible tomorrow through Friday as the frontal boundary becomes stationary along the coast and then begins to move back to the north as a warm front Friday night. Saturday will be very warm ahead of a strong cold front that will produce a good chance of healthy thunderstorms on Sunday. Colder conditions with near freezing temperatures at night should follow early-mid next week.

I’ve been recapping the incredible hurricane season and am highlighting hurricanes Katrina and Rita from a meteorological and climatological perspective on the 6 and 10pm newscasts. Comprehensive information on Katrina and Rita can be found on NASA’s website.
