Warning! Secret Admirer Spam/Virus making the rounds
This one cracked me up!
I didn’t click the link so I don’t know what the spam or virus is, but I’ve been doing this long enough to know this is an email you’ll want to delete when you see it. Be careful if you get it, or something similar, and please spread the word.
These robo-spammers are so flattering, here it is:

Thanks Kingcity37175907, but I’m married and your friends are already spamming my blog aplenty.
Speaking of that, I could tighten the restrictions on comments on this blog, but that adds another step for everyone who wants to comment. I prefer to keep it simple for everyone.
I’ll continue to delete the spam when I see it, and I’ll post the spam email’s here for you when I get them.

I had a similar experience a couple of weeks ago. I got a message on AIM out of the blue from some random name that tried to say that they had a secret crush on me. I am used to getting spam from bots on AIM, but this was the most convincing one I have ever seen. It was similar in that it was supposedly from a secret admirer that I have had for a long time that had finally got the guts to tell me about their crush but it played out for several minutes. It was telling me to approach one of my friends who I think it might be and stuff and then finally after 4 or 5 minutes, they said they had a profile on some adult dating site and gave me the link. It wasn’t really until that point that you could get much of an idea that it was a bot so I am sure it will trick a ton of people. I was absolutely amazed at how smart it was compared to the normal bot spam I get.

I wonder what would happen if the folks putting out this stuff would focus on something that actually benefits all of us?
