Just got a look at the actual November Nielsen book, which tells us if anyone’s watching us doing the news.

Here’s a look at me looking at the book.  (Sure hope the baby gets more of his looks from Nicole than me! haha!)

Nicole and I just want to say thanks for making News First 5 weekends the most watched local weekend newscast again.

Hope you’re having a great Christmas!  We’re winding down.  First time Nicole and I have been able to spend all Christmas day together and it was great!

Here’s a shot of Nicole teaching the kids how to make a gingerbread house.  In this picture she’s trying convince them that Santa told her  it’s OK if she eats that bag of gumdrops instead of putting them on the house.   It didn’t work.

My wife did this amazing story about a baby born without a brain. 

I won’t even try to explain the story to you, but you should watch it. 

By noon today it’s already been viewed by 80,000 people. 

Get your tissues ready, you will never forget this one.

UPDATE: News First 5′s video box that counts views apparently only goes up to 99,999 then starts over at 0.

By 5pm this story had hit 99,999 and gone beyond it.  As of 10pm the view county was roughly 12,000, which means 112,000.

By comparison the NF5 website’s been getting about 80,000 views a week.  So this one story has had more viewers in less than one day than the entire NF5 website typically gets in a week.

So Nicole & I go to see the baby doctor every few weeks and on one visit he’s looking at her bloodwork tests and other personal health info on his computer and he exclaims, “Uh-oh!”

Of course, we’re both stunned and thinking something’s wrong.  So we say “What?”

He says, “What have you been eating? You’ve gained a few pounds!”

ALERT… ALERT… ALERT… runs through my mind and I of course I tell Nicole, “you look beautiful, don’t listen to this guy.”

OK, OK, I just sat there, knowing we were in a CODE RED NICOLE situation, which means I better not say anything.

So after the doctor successfully dodges Nicole’s first swing, he explains that pregnant women gain weight much faster because of all those “hormony things.” <OK he really said what it was in medical terms, and it had something to do with hormones.>

So he then says pasta and orange juice can really pack on the pounds. 

It just so happens, Nicole loves pasta and orange juice.  

After we left, she cut back on orange juice and pasta, for about 5 minutes.

No, I’m not as quick as the doctor. Nicole has a vicious right hook.

<Just kidding she let me post this. And yes, she does look beautiful! And today is our engagement  anniversary!>

Speaking of that, I could tighten the restrictions on comments on this blog, but that adds another step for everyone who wants to comment.  I prefer to keep it simple for everyone. 

I’ll continue to delete the spam when I see it, and I’ll post the spam email’s here for you when I get them.

The picture below was taken recently. I took this picture because this is the first time my new niece Tavia smiled at me.  

I’d only seen her a couple of times, so she always acted like I was some weird stranger and she kept her eyes on me to make sure I wasn’t getting too close.   She probably still thinks I’m a weird stranger, but at least she smiles.

You’ll understand when you look at the video below the pic.  Nicole shot the video last Summer.  Some of you who follow me on twitter where I’m @jamescjarman might have already seen the video. 

My daughter Olivia is playing the piano with Tavia.  About 10 seconds from ther start of the video I walked behind Nicole to sit down,  Tavia noticed me and the fun for her stopped.  We didn’t even realize it until we looked at the video.  Hilarious! [at least we think it is]

So, Nicole gave me permission to post that she is indeed pregnant.  I think it has something to do with a couple ladies at the mall seeing her reporting on a story there and telling her “Oh, so that’s what’s going on,”  while looking at her baby bump.  Apparently they noticed her looking a little different behind the anchor desk. 

You may notice her sitting lower and lower behind the desk in the months to come.  She told me I have to set my chair lower to match her.  At that rate, by month 8 the chairs will be so low that you’ll probably only see 2 heads and hands sticking up from behind the weekend news desk.
