This past week I did not have anything to talk about. I knew I was working on Thanksgiving, so I wanted to Smoke a Turkey. I bought one last week, and smoked it in my Old Smokey smoker. I got a 12lbs Turkey and I used Apple wood chips. Set the smoker for medium high placed the turkey in the smoker and walked away. ‘Set it and forget it’
I left the push out thermometer in and in 3hrs 20min later I was pulling the meet off the bone.
The Turkey was so good. Nice and moist. I was impressed with the way you would pull the leg and the meat fell right off of it.
Damn it was good. Leftovers for the week!






It is a electric smoker. The reason I went with the electric is where I live, where you can not have fire, and I did not want to go to the gas route. I have done some really great food in it. The best thing is that this unit has no holes, so no water pan is needed. The tight fight keeps the moisture in and the meat tastes so good!
Each bite you took you could taste the juice from the meat and the smoke flavor.
